Bench 004

Bench 004

VERSION 001

Description

A strong and sturdy bench from the PNW temperate rainforest. The construction is a play on proportions, using the thickness of the milled Douglas Fir as the base unit for measurement. Construction took place slowly and was a collaborative effort between close friends. A bench is an investment in friendship.

Costs

  • One-of-a-kind

  • The Douglas Fir beams were milled from the land we built our house on by my best friend. This is a one time event that will never happen again, therefore this bench is inexplicably tied to our Forest House.

  • The piece was a collaboration between 4 of my best friends, so it is embedded with sentimental value.

  • It will last multiple lifetimes, gaining patina over the course of it's life but maintaining overall stability.

  • Transportation logistics will be costly.
